1940's Inspired Engagement Shoot :: Erica & Peter :: Chicago, IL :: 3.9.12

I first met Erica & Peter at the Bridal Show Expo in Schaumburg this January.  From the moment I met them I knew that they were an amazing and fun couple and couldn't wait to work with them. The longer we sat and chatted at my booth, the more I grew to love them!!

Erica and I kept in contact after the bridal show and I had told her that I would love to do a styled engagement shoot with her and Peter, I thought that they would be the perfect couple for it .... she was all for it ... yay!!

I contacted the lovely Stephanie Cisko from Viva L'Event and we combined our three creative heads to create this fabulous 1940's/Water for Elephants inspired engagement photo shoot. Erica & Peter played the part seamlessly. It was a beautiful sunny March Chicago day - a typical March day, not nearly as warm as this past weekend. Poor Erica was tearing at times during the shoot she was so cold. An amazing trooper to be standing in a dress in low 40 degree Chicago weather. And I heart her even more for it!!

I had so much fun working with Stephanie and photographing Erica & Peter. I honestly could have photographed them for days. They are one of the cutest couples that I have met, their individual personalities compliment each other so well.

I could continue to rant about them and how much fun we had, but I believe that I have made them all wait long enough for these images, so without further ado ......

.... there will be a behind-the-scenes video to come .....

Stephanie & John :: Merri-Maker's Water's Edge :: 3.3.12 :: Married

Stephanie and John have got to be one of my top "happiest" Bride & Groom's that I have photographed. I have never seen a couple laugh with each other as much as them. And not just a giggle laughter ... I mean full fledge 'laugh out loud' laughter. It was amazing to see (and contagious - not being able to help but laugh yourself) and a clear indication that they are not only truly happy but truly meant for each other.

It was a gorgeous first Saturday in March and we honestly could not have asked for better weather. With a perfect first meeting in Stephanie's backyard, to a sunny warm afternoon on the beach, to a beautiful sun-set, you would have never known the forecast was for rain.

Adding a special personal touch to the ceremony, the couple had a long-time family friend, Carl Calendar, be the officiant.  The ceremony and reception took place at Merri-Maker's Water's Edge,  where Stephanie, John and close friends and family danced the night away with Dominic from  Elite Entertainment leading the way.

It was a true honor to be a part of John & Stephanie's wedding day.

Congratulations to you both and I wish you nothing but more happiness!! :)

the bride made the bouquets herself from silk flowers .... how amazing is that??
