Alexandra & Michael ~ 8.14.2010 ~ Victor, NY Wedding Photographer

Words can not express the happiness, joy and sentimental value of capturing and witnessing Michael and Alexandra's wedding. The amorous couple exchanged personally written vows and promises this past Saturday in the afternoon shade at Springdale Farm B&B in Victor, NY.

It was the most romantic and heart felt ceremony that I have ever witnessed. I am in no way exaggerating when I say that there was not a dry eye during the ceremony, including mine. I may have actually been the worst, to be honest. The more I attempted to hold back the tears and concentrate on photographing the harder it became for me to see. Eventually giving up, I continued to shoot through tear stained eyes, praying that at least some would be in focus.

Much earlier this year, Sasha (a.k.a. Alexandra/ June) had told me that if she were to get married that she would want me to photograph her wedding (this was before Michael and her were engaged). My immediate response was . . . "No. I'm pretty sure I would poo my pants!!"

Sasha and I met and graduated from R.I.T. together, making her not only a fellow photographer, but also a best friend. It was this and the mere inevitable fact that a large majority of wedding guests would also be photographers (including the groom) that gave me the initial knee-jerk reaction. Little did I know, at the time, that this "mere inevitable fact" would be a blessing in disguise for me.

Michael and Sasha have the most amazing circle of friends, and I'm so glad to be a part of it. Being that a decent amount of Sasha's girl-friends are also, consequently, photographers, they were all asked to please bring their cameras, have fun and shoot. Thus, allowing for not only her wedding to be pretty well documented but her bachelorette party as well! To be honest, this was a saving grace for me. The day then became less about the nerves of me photographing "my best friends wedding day" and more about hanging out, having fun and shooting. The thing I LOVE to do.

I could not be happier or more thankful to have been given this chance by both Michael and Sasha. I have seen Sasha grow into the most amazing person and I am so overjoyed that she has found her prince. Michael is SO SO SO perfect for her and the love that they share for each other is so evident that it's nearly contagious.

Congratulations to the two of you!! I love you both so much and could not be happier for the both of you!!

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your amazing wedding day!!!

Your lives are off to a wonderful start!!!
