Chris & Kim :: Rumson, NJ Wedding :: 8.28.11

It was the calm before the storm. Chris & Kim could not have asked for better weather on their wedding day!! Beautiful sunny skies with a cool sea breeze, it was gorgeous. You would have never known that a hurricane was to hit the Jersey Shore the very next day!!

I started out the day at Milagro Spa with the Kim and her girls getting their hair and make-up done.   The Bridal Party was small, intimate and meaningful, (something you don't see much of these days) consisting of only best friends and family members. After hair and make-up the girls headed to Kim's parent's house for some lunch, champagne and relaxation. Jacqui, who second shot for me, was with the boy's who were getting ready only a few miles away at Chris' Aunt's house. His Aunt made him that adorable welcome sign herself!

The ceremony (and reception) was held at Salt Creek Grille, an equally intimate and beautiful venue that puts together gorgeous weddings.  I love that they used a lobster trap for their wedding card box!! We had so much fun with Chris & Kim. Having the river as a backdrop and a beautiful dock leading out to it, the photographic possibilities were endless!!

I am so honored to have been a part of such a beautiful and meaningful wedding. Kim & Chris I wish you nothing but the best, I am so happy for the two of you. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding day!! Congratulations!!

NJ Beach Engagement Session :: Camila & Jeff :: 8.21.11

It was an early morning rise for these two love-birds, but what a beautiful beach morning it was.

Camila & Jeffrey were the lucky winners of my Free Engagement Session Giveaway that I held earlier this year!! They are so beyond cute together, nothing but smiles and laughs. Camila is gorgeous and has the greatest Brazilian accent that immediately took me back to the months I spent in Brazil.  Jeff is a lot of laughs and a trooper for not only being up so early on a Sunday morning, but for graciously going along with anything we asked.

It was so wonderful to finally meet the two of you!! Congratulations!!

Amorous NYC Rainy Day 1yr Wedding Anniversary Shoot :: Alexandra & Michael

Because it rains when we wish it wouldn’t,
Because men do what they often shouldn’t,
Because crops fail, and plans go wrong
Some of us grumble all day long.
But somehow, in spite of the care and doubt,
It seems at last that things work out.
Because we lose where we hoped to gain,
Because we suffer a little pain,
Because we must work when we’d like to play
Some of us whimper along life’s way.
But somehow, as day always follows the night,
Most of our troubles work out all right.
Because we cannot forever smile,
Because we must trudge in the dust awhile,
Because we think that the way is long
Some of us whimper that life’s all wrong.
But somehow we live and our sky grows bright,
And everything seems to work out all right.
So bend to your trouble and meet your care,
For the clouds must break, and the sky grow fair.
Let the rain come down, as it must and will,
But keep on working and hoping still.
For in spite of the grumblers who stand about,
Somehow, it seems, all things work out.

A year ago I photographed one of the most inspirational, momentous and beautiful weddings that I have ever and probably will ever be a part of.  It was Alexandra & Michael Meseke's Upstate NY Destination Wedding.

This past weekend I photographed them again on their one year anniversary, August 14, 2011. It was the rainiest day in history, currently holding the all-time record for a single-day of rainfall in New York .... 8 inches!!

Are we crazy for not canceling the shoot?!?! Possibly. But somehow, things just work out . . . I don't regret it for one minute . . .  wet camera or not . . . they look amazing!!

I owe you for the inspiration you give me.

I owe you for the continuous love and support you give me.

I owe you for being more than just a friend.

Happy Anniversary Meseke's!!!

Congratulations to the two of you!! I could not be happier for you both!!
